Thank you for your interest in publishing with Willamette Law Review. Our editing process provides a personal connection with attention to detail to ensure a quality publication every time. The rapid turn-around we offer to prospective authors makes Willamette Law Review an excellent option for publishing your work.

We invite the submission of unsolicited manuscripts on any area of legal interest. The vast majority of articles published by Willamette Law Review are submitted by scholars and practitioners unaffiliated with Willamette University College of Law. Well-written and carefully edited articles on legal issues of contemporary significance are preferred. The Willamette Law Review prefers articles under 25,000 words, and will rarely accept publications exceeding this threshold. Microsoft Word 2010 format is preferred but not required. All articles should be double-spaced and footnotes should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (21st ed. 2020).

Review Process

Our Submissions and Articles Editors carefully review all submissions to Willamette Law Review. Manuscripts are selected based on a variety of factors, including contemporary relevancy, novelty, and quality of writing and editing.

Offer of Publication

Authors of accepted articles will be notified as soon as possible. Once accepted, the article is placed in our publication schedule. In the notification, we will provide the author with a prospective date of publication.

Editing Process

Once an article is accepted for publication, the article is assigned to an Executive Editor who personally sees the article through all stages of the editing process and serves as the primary contact person for the author. The Review uses a team-editing approach, which we believe provides a more thorough and detailed edit of the piece.
